Creepers eliminating random items from inventory after exploding.

I got back to my base with 23 diamonds and 52 iron when a creeper blew me up, when I respawned I got all my stuff except my ores, and I looked EVERYWHERE for them, this also happened when I started the world, and this hasn't happened on any other world.
