Game won't load after installing v.15.x update

Updated to V.0.15.0 from the previous version (which worked fine) and now when I try to open minecraft I get a blank (black) screen for approx. 5 seconds and then my homescreen appears. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling which doesn't work.
