The /fog command doesn't do anything

I was messing around with some commands and I noticed that /fog existed and I was interested to try it. I was intrigued to find out it changes the color of the  fog depending on what biome you select, so I chose Minecraft:fog_hell so I could get a red hue, but that didn't happen, so I tried Minecraft:fog_the_end and it didn't change.
