Switch can't place doors

Problem is with setting "doors" in place. After lining it up with door frame, it won't give me the "ZL Place" signal. Worked fine before, now not! I even removed a door I already had in place and tried to re-set it but no luck. I also tried to shut down my Switch and restart---still has the problem. Also took out the game disc and put it back in. Wondering if there have been any recent updates that might be causing this? I took some screenshots while on the Switch but I have no idea how to get them sent to anybody.
