Blast furnace not functioning

At first I opend my world right after an update the blast furnace was smelting copper ore and when I took some of the copper ingots and came back a little after it stopped. It wont smelt raw Copper, gold, iron ore with either coal or a lava bucket. Made a new blast furnace which didn't work as well.
