Players Activate Pressure Plate, But Not While Mounting a Horse

I made a Speed Tester for horses, using pressure plates. The plates activate the redstone signal normally with me alone walking across them, but if I ride a horse across the pressure plates, the plates do not set off at all as if the horse and I are weightless.
