Character Creator will not load in selected items/skins

Recently, I deleted a skin pack from Minecraft (My own), and the character creator went berserk.

Characters wouldn't load in properly, so I had to delete and reinstall the game, and when I did, the character creator would not load the character creator items properly. The first two items would always work, but not the rest.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Delete a skin pack (using com.mojang folder, go to skinpacks)
2. Select some character items (except the first two)

Expected result:
The item would load in

Observed Result:
The item is still the previously selected one.
