Character creator not functioning at all on Nintendo Switch

My custom character skin is completely gone. Will not come back. When I go to try and make it again I choose to open the charcoal creator and get a gray screen that says "We're having trouble connecting to the Marketplace right now.  Please try again later!"

and have gotten this message for over a week now. If I try to open the market place it will work but nothing will load at all. 

 

Please help me get my custom skin back
