Skin and market places

So recently I've been playing Minecraft a lot. but their is one main issue for me. Whenever I open it it doesn't allow me to choose a skin or open the marketplace. whenever I put my cursor over marketplace it says invalid server try again. So what I do is open and close it over and over again until it works.
