Soul speed enchantment activation problems

When walking on soul sand or soul soil with boots that have the soul speed enchantment it takes multiple tries entering and exiting from the soul block or some jumping to get the speed boost to activate. Most of the time it only gives you normal walking speed on soul blocks instead of the faster or slower speed.

Sometimes even when exiting soul blocks, after succesfully getting the boost to activate, it randomly stays active for some time.
