Stuck in Generating Terrain when enter Nether Portal.

My world appears to be stuck between Portals.  When jumping through a repaired ruined portal everything appeared fine but stopped when the Generating World 'building terrain' section opened.  It has been frozen there since the 23rd.  I have used this portal several times before with no problem.  I am playing Bedrock edition, survival.  v1.18.30 (though the error occurred in v 1.18.10).  I tried reloading and a reboot.  Each time I tried coming back into the game I was still stuck at the same spot.  I don't relish the idea of having to start over, and no there isn't a backup on my part.
