Game freezes then crashes in existing worlds

You get 30 seconds of gameplay at most before game freezes then crashes. Creating a new world does not have this problem as im aware but I didn't play long on the new world. I tried clearing cache, clearing free space, restarting several times and tried reinstalling. No luck. Game is unplayable.
