Does not save destroyed or placed blocks

When ever I place or destroy a block in survival, once I quit to title and go back onto the world, the block I placed is gone from both where I placed it and my inventory. When I destroy a block I can collect it but after I go back onto the world it is still in my inventory and on the ground. This is really frustrating because I can't do anything
This is actually in version 0.6.0 alpha, but this forum says that version does not exist
