Vines cannot be placed on the sides of 8 layers of snow

When the snow has 8 layers, vines cannot be placed on the sides of it.

How to Reproduce

1. Get 8 layers of snow by placing snow on top of each other to create a full block of it
2. Attempt to place vines on the side of it

You can't place the vines

You are able to place the vines on the side of it
