Boat does not move with new touch controls

When enabling the new touch controls (both touch and crosshair), boats do not move forward. This is the same with boats with chest. I have not tried this with horses and minecarts, but I will update with more information later.

To reproduce:

Turn on touch or crosshair touch controls, then hop and a boat and try to move.
