Can't place buttons on glass-panes or lightning rods anymore!

As a creator making adventure maps, the current map I am making required buttons to be placed on lightning rods. After the last update, you can't place the buttons on them anymore, even with a command! Is this a bug or an intended feature? Please revert it back to being able to place said buttons on rods and glass panes. Thanks!
