Lanterns and torched too dim

Lanterns and torches do not produce as much light as they used to in dark or poorly lit areas. For instance, illuminating a room in a castle with a small window installed. It requires an excessive amount of lanterns and torches to bring lighting levels up in a room to the point of clear visibility. If I am building a corridor, that is 20X6X6, It shouldn't require 14 lanterns to light it up.
