Tamed mobs disappearing

Me and my mates have had a world on minecraft for a while now. we just logged back in a few days ago only to find that all of our maxed out villagers and a lot of pets that were all tamed have disappeared.

Please let me know if there is a fix to this problem as it would be great to have all these things back.
