My Villagers dissapeared.

I went to the end and killed the dragon for the first time in survival. When I came back I could not find my villagers. The village is completely walled of and lit up well. Nothing spawned in there for months. Even if it was a zombie siege, I was on hard difficulty so there should be atleast some zombies left and many broken doors.
