Nether loading glitch

I went into the nether after my friend was suffocating in a wall because he exited out of the nether. I went in to stay on the loading screen of the nether and i could hear my character getting hurt and when it stopped i reloaded the world to see me without my stuff spawned at my last save point. I looked for my stuff and could not find it.
