Nether Portals Frequently Crash Game Since 1.18 Release

Attempting to enter or exit the Nether, but most often while exiting, will cause the game to crash. Chances of successfully entering the opposite dimension are perhaps 1/5 or so, maybe less in some instance. Entering a portal while the game is not auto saving seems to have no bearing on the chances of success. I am running a world created in pre-1.18. PS4 error code is CE-38700-8
