World loads extremly slowly, affecting boats

When moving quickly through water, the game may start to save continuously causing lag and/or causing chunks to be unable to render. This eventually causes all players in a boat to be kicked from it and the boat will disappear for a few seconds before returning. (Occured during a multiplayer session)
