signs not accepting text on windows 10 version

I place a sign like usual but when I try to type text into it nothing happens, The only thing I can do is to click the x to close and place a blank sign, although sometimes if I try to place a sign shortly after starting the game it works correctly the first time I try it (but only the first time). But it usually doesn't work at all.
