Mine carts with chests don’t work and bug the game

minecarts with chests are impossible to open and attempting to open a minecart seems to bug out the game and make it so I can’t open my inventory or any other chest. I can still attack mobs, break blocks, place blocks and eat with no issue. the only way i’ve fixed the issue is quitting and rejoining
