Cant place bocks in 1.18 multiplayer

I recently updated my world to 1.18 and everything was fine until my sister joined and when she joined the game would not let us place or break blocks sometimes it would work and sometimes it would place blocks but would place them incorrectly like a a stair bock would be rotated incorrectly and sometimes it would put the block that was there (if you broke something that was there) back and place the one above it back as well overall this has completely broken bedrock multiplayer
