Minecart chest not opening

When trying to open a minecart chest it will not open. Then try and open a normal chest the lid will just stay open but the inventory will not show. Have also had times where I couldn't open my personal inventory after trying to access a minecart chest. Must log out and log back in to be able to access inventories once again.
