Taking damage after dying and picking up stuff in different place.

I was doing a raid in a village with god netherite gear and I was away from all of the vindactors and pilagers and so on and I was still taking damage at an alarming rate and my totem had popped and I died. My base is a thousand blocks away and when I respawned I picked up half the stuff I died with and then fell through the floor. I flew back to the raid which took forever because it was so laggy and once I got there other half of my stuff was in the area I died in.
