Minecarts with chest don't open

I am on a single player world in 1.18 on the windows 10 edition of Minecraft. I have a auto-smelter and it uses chest minecarts. When I try to open a Minecart with chest, nothing happens and I can't open it. Then when I try to interact with any other blocks with UI (Chests, Crafting Tables, Furnaces, Etc.) Nothing happens and I can't open the menu. I have tried destroying and replacing the Minecarts with chests but that does not fix the issue. The only way to be able to use a block with UI is to save and quit, then rejoin. However trying to open a minecart with chest starts the issue again. 

 

I want to clarify something I saw in the comments. The world I have issues in was originally created in 1.14 on the Nintendo Switch version of the game.
