1.18 Fortune 3 Isn't Working

Hello! I was mining and stumbled across some diamonds, i used my fortune 3 diamond pickaxe to mine to get more diamonds out of the vein of 7 that i found. unfortunately i only got 7 diamonds whoch didnt make sense since i used fortune 3 and should've gotten more. some of my other firends are having the same issue.
