Xbox one new update. Crafting doesn't work. Also converting wood into planks doesn't work

Hello Xbox one new update has bugs. Crafting isn't working and converting wood into planks isn't.  Thank you for helping.  I started a new world from scratch and spawned in a jungle biome. When i chopped a tree down and tried to convert the wood into planks , it wouldn't let me do this. So i was unable to craft a crafting table and tools
