Change of y coordinates causing issues with my super flat world

Following today's major update, my super flat minecraft world has glitched out. Due to the change in the "y" coordinate, I managed to build under bedrock (my world is created under an older version), but this broke my game. On one occasion it killed me. It was setting me on fire when there was no fire. Is there a fix for this?
