In the nether, I was trying to get across lava with crimson planks, and they caught on fire

As I was coming back to my portal in the nether, I decided to build through lava with crimson planks and logs. After that, They caught on fire and I died, losing all my things. I was reading the wiki, and it said that crimson and warped wood types are fire resistant.
