Diamond leggings disappeared after dying

so i was useing my riptide trident but missed the water and died when i went to pick up my stuff my diamond leggings disapered everything else survived but it.(oh and it dident break it was at full with unbreaking)i probobly just lost it but should still be egnoliged as i want to keep my stuff in later times.
