Iron Belly Achievement

i have done all the steps to completing the "Iron Belly" achievement, but i have not been awarded the trophy. I am making sure i have no more stamina/food bar. i have even tried doing eating the rotten flesh before i take damage because a few friends said that might work. i have searched the web and apparently it's a common problem for the newer version of minecraft. i don't have the version where you can switch back to "Editions" and whatnot, so i cannot just switch back to the older edition and achieve it.
