Tame Animals Despawning

Tamed animals (and iron golems) keep despawning after loading in, they stick around for a day or so. If I explore and come back some times they despawn as well. Tried several things feeding them 1-2 in a game day. Caging leashing etc. Even created a new world. Nothing seems to work.
