Unable to play with friends

I am a switch player, and despite being logged into my Microsoft account and having a switch online account, I am unable to join the world my friends and I have created together. This problem has been occurring for several days now. I have tried to connect through other devices as I thought maybe it was a problem with my game card, however no matter how long I try for or where I try to connect, it is no use. This is extremely frustrating for me.
