Items in barrel disappeared after closing app

So I was moving and barrel full of my valuables to another barrel and I moved it in and logged off (I closed the app not save and quit if that may have caused the issue) and I just logged back onto my world and found that the last 7 items have disappeared from the barrel (also aren't in my inventory) and this includes the dragon egg, 3 enchanted golden apples over 2 stacks of diamonds and a couple other things I can't remember. This is a world that I played about 1hr every day since the day after 1.17 released and I am concerned that if I cannot fix this and get the stuff back I will have to restart (reason is that I lost the dragon egg which I can't get any more of). If there is a way to fix it please tell me. This world does not include any 1.18 betas.
