Boats dissapear upon getting out of them.

I was in a ocean exploring and I got out of my boat, once I finished looking around on an island my boat was gone, I then experimented with this and found out that when you get out of a boat of (at the time I only has spruce wood) the boat seemed to disappear without any boat dropping. I thought this once off but it happened to me 3 times consecutively.
