Not enough space to download marketplace content

This issue has haunted us for a while now. Upon attempting to download any content from Marketplace, we receive a 'not enough space' error. This includes skins, worlds, etc. I have gone as far as fully wiping the system (even though there is a ton of free space), nuking the game and all save data and world saves, and disassociating all accounts to no avail. I have seen Mojang acknowledge this as a problem, but I'd like to provide any input I can to get this resolved, as at this point, we can only play vanilla Minecraft without any content added from the Marketplace, of which we have a lot, just completely un-downloaded and unusable. I am extremely concerned with the long standing nature of this problem and am out of options.
