Tridents disappear after play goes around 20 blocks away from them when they are thrown

Tried out the new beta/experimental for caves and cliffs. When I threw a trident I realized that it disappeared. It’s happened on multiple occasions and I’ve noticed it’s happened every time. This is very troublesome for farms that use trident killers.
