tnt being blocked by chunk border

While me and my friend were in creative testing out tnt cannons, we found that they frequently get affected by chunk borders. In the attached video you can see the tnt stopping in midair as if there is an invisible wall and then lands to blow up, not destroying any blocks past the chunk border.
