Boat Disappears Upon Disembarking

99.9% of the time when I disembark from a boat whether near or far from any land or shore it immediately vanishes. If I walk away, say 50 blocks or so, and then return to where the boat disappeared, I find it has reappeared exactly where I left it. This only started happening recently, several versions ago.
