All the mobs and paintings in my world that have been tamed or bred have disappeared overnight.

Specifically, all the sheep, villagers, horse, paintings, dogs and cats have just disappeared from my world. This has never happened before. When i signed off last, the game saved just fine. So now i am very confused and disheartened about this issue. Thank you for your time.
