Unable to connect to realms

As of 28/10/21 Minecraft on both my Xbox Series X and my PC is unable to join my friend's realm.

I am the only one who is experiencing this issue.

This happens to my own realm too.

The game constantly takes me to the 'Loading Resource Packs' black box at random when I am on the menu screen.

When I try to join the realm the 'Loading resource packs' as part of the joining process, the game remains there unable to join.

If I return to the Xbox dashboard at any point, Minecraft the returns to the main menu.

 

On the handful of times I have been able to load into the realm, I cannot move: open chests; doors; my inventory; interact with players or use text speak.

 

I have tried different internet connections to check that.

I have uninstalled the game multiple times on both platforms.

I have been removed from the realm and reinstated with the correct privileges.
