App freezes when I try ti press Play or Settings

As mentioned, the game app freezes when I try to press Play or Settings. My younger brother suggests it's due to some packs that he downloaded being bugged, so I tried again after uninstalling/deleting them but it didn't work. I tried checking resource packs on my laptop but that folder was empty. I can go to the Marketplace and check Achievements but cannot play the game or view settings (to in-gam turn off the packs). He suggests it's due to a resource pack and a CLient server that he got. If anyone can help fix this without me having to reinstall MC and lose all my worlds it would be great..
