Mobs glitching in Minecraft

Hello, my Minecraft just started being like this about 5 days ago and it makes it frustrating to keep my villages going when it is super laggy, I know it does not have to do with adding villagers because I have had the same amount of villager for the past two months and they have not given me trouble. Whenever I transport villagers in a boat it is super laggy as well, my villagers are slow movers and whenever I hit one they lag to jump up and down. Please help me find a solution, I've also tried to increase the graphics and kill some of the villagers but none of it has worked. Thank you
