Logging out in experimental with an item in hand can delete it

No i do not have a screenshot or video to prove this bug, so take as you want, yesterday i simply logged out of my experimental world with my trident in hand, this morning i log back onto the same world and it wasn't in my hotbar or my inventory. Hope this is enough information to understand the bug.
