After getting in a boat that I have already gotten in before, the game crashes

An example of what happens. I create a world (I chose winding river seed, I don't think it matters though). I place a boat on the water and ride around the river for a few minutes. I then get out of the boat, and proceed to do some stuff on the land for a few more minutes. As soon as I get back in the boat, the game freezes. It stays in this state for about half a minute until notifying me that the game has crashed and takes me back to my home screen. I wasn't able to find any log files or log info to help.
