Not getting as much XP as before

I have been playing minecraft for a while and I have a realm with friends. Recently I have noticed I am not getting as much XP as I use to. This makes leveling up very hard however, I only noticed this problem in realms as my other world works fine. The XP issue is extremely bad when it comes to using a cooking stuff can someone please look into this. This has made working on my projects very hard.
