Villagers, pictures, armour stands and animals gone from base

retuned from the end to find at my base 7 armour stands, pictures on the wall, animals and villagers have disappeared. 
Reloading didn't resolve. Got more sheep now two of them have gone too. 
seems to only be in one chunk as a nearby village is unaffected. 
both my villagers - one in a mine and one on top of a hill are gone.
